ABOUT LAKESHORE BOX TRAINING

BACK FOR YEAR 5 • Box Training is designed for players who want to take their game to the next level and also want to prepare for their high school seasons. Our curriculum provides high reps and fast paced drills in a small group setting on a smaller playing space. Tighter spaces, physical play and fewer people on the field equates to improved stick skills, faster decision making and an improved lacrosse IQ when the player transitions back to the field.

Girls attending will be provided equipment. We will use gloves, helmets and some boys lacrosse sticks sporadically. The intention is to expose them to the discipline of box and box fundamental concepts!

WHAT IS BOX LACROSSE?

Box lacrosse is played in the confines of an ice rink with boards. The rules are based on keeping the game moving with a shot clock, quick restarts, smaller/enclosed space, and less whistles. This format keeps the game pace fast and forces players to anticipate/play ahead of the whistle. Box lacrosse maximizes live reps for the players.

“Playing box lacrosse, playing in such a tight space with so few players has really helped my game and my vision going into field lacrosse. Seeing how open everything is and handling the ball in box lacrosse in such a tight space and then being able to handle it in such an open space has really helped and increased my stick skills even more.”
