Lakeshore Lacrosse offers lacrosse camps and leagues for women and girls all year round. Our girls lacrosse camps and leagues are instructed by experienced coaches have been teaching and playing lacrosse for years in a variety of competitive settings. Some of us also coach at highly competitive high school programs such as Michelle Sabastian, head coach of Hinsdale Central High School Women's Lacrosse team, which holds the Illinois High School Women's Lacrosse State Champion title for 2007. Our Lakeshore Lacrosse and IGLA (www.iglax.org) summer girls' lacrosse camps and leagues are a fun way to meet new friends and play with girls of a similar age. Girls from 3rd to 12th grade practice all around Chicagoland and compete in games refereed by US Lacrosse certified women's lacrosse umpires. Our "Select" league offers two levels of play one for beginning lax players and one for more experienced lacrosse athletes who are interested in or are playing at the high school varsity level. Our most competitive laxers participate in three travel teams that go to national tournaments as well as local competitions in Chicago, greater Illinois and the Midwest. The Travel program is for varsity girls lacrosse players who are interested in playing lacrosse in college. Additionally, the Lakeshore Women's Lacrosse Club offers a lakefront league for experienced women who played lacrosse in college and want to keep their lax skills in check. The Lakeshore Women's Lacrosse Club also travels to tournaments around Chicago, the Midwest and beyond. In the fall things really start heating up! The Select leagues showcase fall colors in beautiful area parks and excellent off-season girls' lacrosse. In October Lakeshore Lacrosse hosts the Chi-Town Classic. This tournament brings in high school, college women's lacrosse teams, and post collegiate teams from all over the Midwest to play on the Chicago lake front at Montrose Park. And we don't cool down for the winter. Indoor lacrosse is all about games and the so called "fastest game on two feet" gets a turbo boost. Several indoor sports facilities around Chicagoland play host to fast-paced 6v6 girls' lacrosse leagues. The Holiday on Lax tournament in December is a collaboration with Amonte Sports. This unique tournament brings together Lakeshore Lacrosse coaches and current members of the Northwestern University Women's Lacrosse team. Players sharpen their skills for the spring season with lots of playing time and a specialized goalie clinic to help keepers keep their cool in the crease. In the spring we see our high school players off to lead their teams through the regular high school lacrosse season. Elementary and middle school girls get to watch their older sisters play and enjoy fun recreational lacrosse with the Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association (www.iglax.org) The IGLA, which we at Lakeshore Lacrosse like to think of as our little sister, provides opportunities for all girls from 3rd grade to 8th grade to play lacrosse. Additionally Lakeshore Lacrosse offers private instruction year round, information on equipment as well as field lining consultation with the Accu-Arc women's lacrosse field lining tool. With a staff of over 50 we have established relationships with over 31 communities in the Chicagoland area (Park Districts, Villages, and YMCA’s). These communities include Arlington Heights, Batavia, Buffalo Grove, Burr Ridge, Chicago, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Evanston, Geneva, Glencoe, Glen Ellyn, Highland Park, Hinsdale, Kenilworth, LaGrange, LaGrange Park, Lake Zurich, Lisle, Northbrook, Northfield, Oak Brook, Oak Park, Pleasantdale, River Forest, Schaumburg, St. Charles, Westmont, Western Springs, Willowbrook, Wilmette, Winnetka and Vernon Hills.
