Directors of Lakeshore Lacrosse
Kristan Ash - Kristan grew up playing lacrosse in the Philadelphia suburbs. She was a four year varsity player at Henderson High School and at Gettysburg College. Kristan began officiating lacrosse several years ago and is now a certified US Lacrosse official holding a District Rating. Kristan is the director of Lakeshore Travel teams, which enables her to coach players at major tournaments throughout the country, several of which she played at herself just a "few" years ago! She is also very dedicated to Lakeshore's mission of youth lacrosse development.

Josie Broussard - Josie grew up in Maine where she started playing lacrosse in junior high school. She continued to play club lacrosse at Brandeis University and with local club teams in the Boston area, including Mass Elite and Boston Women's Lacrosse Club. After graduating, she coached at Brandeis for two years before moving to Chicago in 2004 to pursue a PhD in molecular metabolism. She is now a director of Lakeshore Lacrosse as well as the head Travel Team coach and Chitown Tournament director. In the spring, Josie coaches the Benet Academy girls’ lacrosse team and plays as much as possible with the Lakeshore Women's Lacrosse Club.

Carol Lynn Davey, Travel Director - Carol Lynn grew up in Philadelphia playing lacrosse and has loved it ever since. After having 7 children and relocating to Chicago it was time to find something she enjoyed of her own. In 2000 she began officiating. She took on the Head coaching position at Hinsdale Central in 2003 and coached for the next two years. In 2004 Hinsdale took 4th in state. However officiating is her passion. In 2005 she returned to full time officiating, and continues to love the sport and the players.
Nikki Kammer - Nikki grew up in Wooster, OH where she first started playing lacrosse in the 7th grade. She attended Wooster High School and played varsity lacrosse from her sophomore through her senior years. Her senior year she was named to the 1st team All-Region in Ohio. Nikki continued to play lacrosse at The College of Wooster where she started on the varsity team for 3 years in a row. During her senior year in college Nikki coached a team of 7th & 8th grade girls and conducted several mini camps for that age group. After college Nikki moved to St. Paul, MN where she played on a post-collegiate traveling team and assisted in coaching several high school teams. Since moving to Chicago in 2001, Nikki became involved with Lakeshore Lacrosse, helping with the fall tournament and playing with the Chicago Women’s Lacrosse Club as well as in the Lakeshore Lacrosse leagues.

Lindsay Morgan, Select Director - Lindsay played lacrosse at the University of Illinois, holding many leadership positions and winning some awards during her time there. She continues to play today for the Lakeshore Women's Lacrosse Club. She began coaching immediately out of college for Lakeshore and for Naperville Central High School. During her time as head varsity coach, she led the team from being ranked #25 in state to #7 in state in two seasons, giving them their first and only two play-off wins and giving them their most winning record to date. Lindsay is also a certified US Lacrosse official holding a Local rating and the director for Lakeshore Select. She coaches for Lakeshore's Select and Travel teams. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in education at the University of Illinois at Chicago to teach high school English and ESL.

Bridget Olp - Bridget Olp moved to Chicago in 1999 after graduating from the University of Illinois and began officiating lacrosse in the Chicagoland area. In 2003 she founded Lakeshore Lacrosse. She continues to officiate at the high school and collegiate level with added international experience from tournaments such as the Prague Cup. Recently, she founded the Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association (www.iglax.org) and is working to promote youth lacrosse in Chicagoland.

Michelle Sebastian - Michelle went to Hinsdale Central High School, where she was on the varsity basketball and soccer teams. She picked up a stick for the first time in 1993, during her freshmen year at Vanderbilt University. She played and eventually started on the club team that first year. On their second year as a club, Michelle became the leading scorer on the team. Vanderbilt turned Division I varsity in 1995. In that year, she not only made the team amid a group of scholarship players and recruits, but was a starter in the midfield. The team went 10-5 on the year and Michelle was 7th in scoring. In her senior year, Vanderbilt played an even tougher schedule against schools like Maryland, UNC, and Duke and maintained a 10-6 record. Michelle tied for 5th in scoring that year and won the Commodore Award for the best attitude and hustle. Coach Sebastian is now the head coach of the varsity girls’ lacrosse team at Hinsdale Central, after acting as volunteer coach for one year. In her first year as head coach (2005), the Red Devils achieved a 3rd place in state title, their highest in school history. In addition, in 2007 Hinsdale Central was the State Champion. Some of her former players went on to play Division I and Division II in college. Coach Sebastian continues to play lacrosse today as a member of the Lakeshore Women's Lacrosse Club and is a coach for all grade levels for Lakeshore Lacrosse.

Helder Weil, Goalie Director - Helder started playing lacrosse during her junior year in high school in Colorado, where she grew up. She played varsity goalie with the top ranked Colorado State University women's club team. In Chicago, she has taught Spanish at the middle and high school level and was head coach of the Neuqua Valley Wildcats in their first season. While working with Lakeshore, she has coached the Select and Travel teams as well as the annual pre-season goalie clinic. In addition to coaching, she is a certified US Lacrosse official holding a District rating and plays with the Lakeshore Women's Lacrosse Club. In her spare time Helder enjoys playing the guitar and volunteering.

Coaches and Refs for Lakeshore Lacrosse
Jess Apel - Jessica grew up in Bridgewater, New Jersey. She is the founding member of the Bridgewater-Raritan girls’ lacrosse team. By her senior year, the team recorded a season of 12-2 and made the N.J. State Playoffs. She still takes great pride in returning home to see over 250 girls participating in girl’s lacrosse in her township ranging from four years old and until seniors in high school. After high school, Jessica accepted an academic and athletic scholarship to Rutgers University to play Division I Lacrosse. She played every position during her career except goalie. She majored in biology was on the Dean’s List 6 out of 8 semesters. She was an Academic All-American, and Big East Academic All-American. She was also named a captain for her senior year and helped lead the team to a 12-3 season.. She helped create and direct the Women’s Division of her family business called 2 Knights Lacrosse. The company runs clinics, fall/winter/summer leagues, select/travel teams, offers private lessons and training to kids in all over New Jersey. . Currently a 3rd year medical student at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, she is aspiring to become a dermatologist (but that could change). Lakeshore Lacrosse gives Jessica a break from the world of medicine and allows her to again enjoy the sport she loves.
Kristen Berlacher - Kristen started playing lacrosse out East. She was captain of her high school team and Academic All-American her senior year. She played Division I lacrosse in college at the University of Richmond, a top ten team during her time there. She also coached a high school girl's YMCA team in Virginia for a year, and her club team won the Vail Shoot Out two years in a row. She plays with the Lakeshore Women’s Lacrosse Club and coaches for Lakeshore.
Lucia Perfetti Clark - Lucia grew up in Homer, NY and started playing lacrosse in 8th grade. During her junior year varsity season the team won the section III title, and in her final varsity season was runner up for section III. She went on to play at the University of Connecticut for two seasons under Bonnie Rosen. The first season was their inaugural Division I year, and she tallied the first assist for the Huskies. After graduate school she continued to play with the Adirondack club, as well as coach for Guilderland Youth Lacrosse for six years at varying grade levels. Lucia has been an official for seven seasons and currently holds a District rating.
Kelly Cook - Kelly grew up in Downingtown Pennsylvania. She played basketball, soccer, field hockey, track, and finally picked up lacrosse late in junior high. In high school she was a four year starter, a leader in the midfield, and team captain her senior year. She won many awards during her time there. She helped start and play for the Pennsylvania Express. She received a scholarship for DI lacrosse at The Ohio State University. She became a four year starter as well as a team captain. Her team was the first to win their conference, and the first to advance to the NCAA playoffs, two years in a row. She has had a great experience with lacrosse and loves teaching the game to others. Kristen Cornicello - Growing up in Long Island, NY, lacrosse was part of Kristen’s vocabulary for years before she started playing. Kristen comes from a family of lacrosse players; her three siblings and herself all participated in lacrosse at the collegiate level. She played an important role in the establishment of the women’s lacrosse program at Lynbrook High School. She was a member of the first women’s varsity lacrosse team at her high school, where they were undefeated and conference champions their first year. Kristen continued her lacrosse career at Villanova University. She started out as an attacker on Villanova’s Division I varsity lacrosse team. Her coached later saw Kristen’s eye for defense and switched her position to low defense, playing her at point or cover point. Though this Patriot League competitor struggled to survive, Kristen enjoyed playing the game and the company of her teammates. After graduating from Villanova, Kristen joined the Lasallian Volunteer Organization and was placed to teach in a middle school in Chicago. She continued to spread her passion for lacrosse by coaching at Fenwick High School in Oak Park, and participating in the Chicago Women’s Lacrosse Club. Kristen has a strong love for the sport of lacrosse and continues to share that with those around her.
Kate Doesburg - Growing up in Summit, New Jersey, Kate started playing lacrosse at Kent Place School when she was twelve years old. At Miami of Ohio, Kate played club lacrosse and then continued playing after college when she moved to Chicago in 1992. The Chicago Women’s Lacrosse Club (now called Lakeshore Women’s Lacrosse Club) and competed against college club teams including the University of Dayton, Notre Dame, Purdue and Vanderbilt. Kate’s post-collegiate career includes five Vail Lacrosse ShootOut tournaments which convinced her that losing isn’t as fun as winning. Now living in the far western suburb of Batavia, Illinois with her husband, Eric, and two little boys, Pai and Finn, Kate is looking forward to playing lacrosse well into her old age.
Sophie Eustis - Sophie has been playing lacrosse since she was in 7th grade. She played on the varsity team at her high school, Concord Academy in Concord, MA, all four years, and earned All-Star honors in her league her junior and senior years. In high school, she also played on the squash team, which she was captain of her junior and senior years, and she fenced competitively at a local club. Sophie has been a member of the varsity fencing team at Northwestern University, where she will be captain for the upcoming season. She played on the club lacrosse team her first two years, she was vice-president of the team her sophomore year. In her junior year, Sophie switched to coaching, taking on the Oak Park and River Forest freshmen/sophomore team. She continues to play whenever she gets the chance.
Cindy Frezzo - Hailing from Landenberg, Pennsylvania, Cindy was exposed from an early age to the burgeoning Mid-Atlantic lacrosse scene. A talented, multisport athlete (but a lacrosse fanatic at heart), Cindy always strives to bring a creative, multidimensional approach to the game both as a player and as a coach. At Boston College, she was a vital contributor to a newly revived WDIA program that made final four conference appearances in each season she played. After graduating in 2007, Cindy moved to the windy city to pursue a new life of work, play, and plenty of lacrosse!
Theresa Frezzo - Theresa grew up near Philadelphia where she played field hockey and lacrosse from a young age. She graduated from the Tatnall School in Wilmington, DE, where she served as captain, collected 4 All-Conference and 2 All-State nods during her career and was the statewide highest scoring player her senior season. She attended Bucknell University, playing 4 years on their Varsity Women’s team, contributing to the most successful season in the school’s history, when they finished 9th among the nation’s Division I programs. She left her mark as the 2nd highest scorer her junior and senior years. Theresa moved to Chicago in 2000 to attend graduate school. She has remained an active lacrosse participant as captain of the Lakeshore Women’s Lacrosse Club, coaching 2 seasons at Hinsdale Central and one at University of Chicago. She has served on the Chicago-Illinois US Lacrosse board of directors, and is a certified US Lacrosse official holding a Local rating. Theresa keeps busy working as biotechnology consultant and is pursuing her MBA at night at the Kellogg School of Management.

Katie Gotaas - Katie grew up north of Chicago and went to New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois where she played on the State Championship lacrosse team in 2000 and 2001. She then attended Wheaton College where she played on the women's lacrosse club team and captained three of those years, taking the team to the WCLL playoff tournament her senior year. After graduating from college, Katie has stayed very involved with lacrosse in the Chicagoland area – coaching for Lakeshore's high school programs, playing with the Lakeshore Women's Lacrosse Club, and promoting lacrosse throughout the region.

Lauren Greene - Lauren's first introduction to the game of lacrosse was when she switched from soccer mid-season in her freshman spring at high school in Chappaqua, New York. The lacrosse coach convinced her that her height (and reach) would be better served on the lacrosse field. As a varsity letter-winner in three sports, she served as captain in two sports; varsity lacrosse and basketball (her other love) and lettered in field hockey. Although strictly a defensive wing in high school, Lauren played cover point in her early years on the Kenyon College squad. By the end of her time at the Division III Ohio School, she was a starting third home and supported some of Kenyon's most prolific scorers. In her senior year she earned the honor of captain for the Kenyon Ladies. Lauren has coached the Tsunami and Blizzard Select teams as well as the junior varsity squad at Benet Academy. Lauren resides in Hyde Park.
Leslie Guidotti - Leslie gave up soccer and began to play lacrosse her freshman year of high school at Seaholm in Birmingham, MI. While there she was captain for two years and her team won the State Championship for three consecutive years. During high school she also played on the Midwest National Team and was named defensive player of the year in 1998.Leslie attended the University of Michigan from 1999-2003 where she played defensive wing on their varsity-club lacrosse team and was captain of the team for two years. In 2001, 2002, and 2003, Leslie was selected as a WDIA All-American and also to WCLL 1st team defense. Her team selected her as MVP in 2001 and 2003. After graduating from U of M, Leslie joined MaryAnn Meltzer and John Sung to be an assistant coach for her old team at the University of Michigan. At first it was difficult to coach friends and past teammates, but during her two years coaching she became much more comfortable with coaching and helped lead the team to 3rd and 5th place in the USL-WDIA National Championships. Now living in Chicago, Leslie is attending Chicago Medical School for her Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology. Life just didn't feel the same without lacrosse, which led her to find Lakeshore Women's Lacrosse Club. Leslie also keeps up her skills and teaching skills by coaching several annual clinics.
Virginia Kosenkova - Virginia, a Baltimore native, moved to Chicago after graduating with a BS in biochemistry from the University of Maryland. In college she played for the highly competitive Maryland club team. She now plays for the Lakeshore Women's Lacrosse Club. Virginia has coached Lakeshore Select teams since 2006 and continues to welcome girls to the west leagues. Virginia is currently the assistant to varsity coach Michelle Sebastian at Hinsdale Central. In 2007, she assisted as that team earned the school’s first Illinois State Championship in lacrosse, Virginia works in Naperville as a scientific technical author for BP and hopes to pursue an advanced degree.
Marguerite E. Lanaux – Originally from Long Island, NY, lacrosse has been a part of her life as long as she can remember. Playing since the 7th grade, she has always earned the leadership roles as Co-Capt of her Junior High, J.V and Varsity squads. She was a member of the All-Conference team in High School and the second leading scorer of her team. Continuing her career at the University at Albany, her team placed second in the ECAC conference. Halfway through her college career she transferred to Howard University in Washington, D.C. to play for the only Division I program at a Historically Black University. While at Howard she earned the honor of MVP and leading scorer as a Senior. Marguerite continued to compete post-college with “Top Shelf” a post-collegiate team in Washington D.C., winning Laxtoberfest in Annapolis, MD, two consecutive years (2006, 2007). Following graduation from Law School Marguerite, returned to her alma mata to take on the position as Head Coach. Marguerite had a successful tenure as Head Coach bringing in the first recruits from Chicago and Orlando, Fl to the program exposing the University to the growth of the sport. Recently relocating the Chicago area she is continues to play with the Lakeshore Adult team and is elated to serve as the U-15 team Coach!
Alexa Laub - Alexa grew up in Buffalo, NY where is picked up a stick at about 5 years old. Chasing her 2 older brothers around the backyard as they practiced, and playing ball girl at all their games, she never looked back. After high school at Nichols School, she went on to start and play all 4 years at DIII Ohio Wesleyan University in Columbus, Ohio. She received honorable mention, 2nd team and 1st team in the NCAC conference over her 4 years. After graduation, she moved to the Big Apple to continue playing with the New York Nyghts. She also coached with a flourishing program of the East Coast, Doc's Lacrosse. She now lives and plays in Chicago. She helps coach for Lakeshore and plays with the Lakeshore Women’s Lacrosse Club.
Jenny Lynch - Jenny grew up in Chicago and began playing lacrosse as a freshman at Loyola Academy. In 2001, Jenny joined the lacrosse team at the University of Illinois. In her three years playing lacrosse at U of I, she won awards for best attack and best midfielder, and helped the team in a division championship victory. Jenny has a BS and MST in Accounting and works as a tax consultant in Chicago.
Donna McCann - Donna McCann was a three-sport athlete at Huntington High School in Huntington, NY and garnered many honors including an All-American nod for lacrosse in 2001.She traveled to Northwestern University to begin her collegiate lacrosse career. Donna participated in the inaugural season of the NU women's lacrosse team (it had been discontinued in the 80's and reinstated for the 2001 season). During her career at Northwestern, the team was able to climb into the national rankings and made it to the semifinals of the NCAA Division I lacrosse tournament in 2004, only to lose to eventual winners the Virginia Cavaliers. By her senior year she helped the wildcats to a #1 ranking, and a 2005 Division I Women's Lacrosse National Championship. McCann appeared in every game during her 4 year career at NU. Over her career she tallied 26 goal and 18 assists. She was named IWLCA Academic Squad nominee, ALC honor roll and Academic Big 10 2002-2004. Throughout her collegiate career Donna coached various aged youth for Kelly Amonte Hiller at lacrosse camps throughout the country. She also served as varsity coach for Glenbrook South High School during the 2006 season. McCann helped the GBS squad to a #8 ranking in Illinois and a trip to the state quarterfinals. She was named IWHSLA Rookie Coach of the year. Donna now serves as head varsity coach at St. Ignatius College Prep.
Margo McFarland - Margo started playing lacrosse as a 3rd former at the St. Mark's School in Southborough, MA. During her junior year she transferred to the Roland Park Country School and played Varsity lacrosse. She transferred to RPCS so she could spend a year in New Zealand, where she played and coached. Her stick skills come from that year. She played varsity at Hopkins for Freshman-Junior years as first home. Margot has also played and coached informally with various east-coast summer leagues and high schools. She is excited to get back into coaching! Sarah McKenna - Sarah played on the varsity lacrosse team at Evanston Township High School from 1997 to 2000. She then went to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she played on the club women's lacrosse team. She transferred to Vassar College in New York after her freshman year and played varsity field hockey and lacrosse for Vassar. She graduated from Vassar in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. After Vassar, she moved to Champaign, where she started her master’s degree in microbiology at the University of Illinois. For the past two years she was an assistant coach for the University of Illinois Women's Lacrosse Club. She now plays for Lakeshore Women’s Lacrosse Club, coaches a Select team for Lakeshore, and field hockey at Loyola Academy.
Heidi Mella - Heidi grew up in Potomac, Maryland where she started playing lacrosse in 6th grade at The Holton-Arms School. She went on to play DII field hockey at Southern Connecticut State University and then after transferring to the University of Georgia she started playing lacrosse for the club team there. They were conference champions 3 out of her 4 years and she made all Conference (SWLL) first team honors her senior year. UGA went to the club division national tournament 2 years in a row. Heidi now lives and plays in Chicago. She helps coach for Lakeshore and plays with the Lakeshore Women’s Lacrosse Club.
Elisha Newsome – Elisha played lacrosse at Howard University in Washington, D.C. During Elisha’s time at Howard, she held various leadership positions and was voted captain for two consecutive years by her peers. After graduating from Howard, Elisha moved to Chicago where she played with Lakeshore Lacrosse. Due to a job transfer, Elisha moved to St. Louis, MO where she played with the women’s post-collegiate team. In addition, Elisha also worked with QC lax to help promote lacrosse to high school girls and help girls refine their skills during the summer. Elisha is very passionate about lacrosse and excited about getting more involved in the Chicagoland area. Currently, Elisha resides in the Naperville area where she works as a pharmaceutical sales representative. Lauren Price - Lauren started playing lacrosse in Annapolis, Maryland when she was 9 years old. What originally started as a way to beat up boys then turned into a lifelong passion. At age 13 she played for Rolling Knolls Lacrosse League and was honored that same year by playing on the Johns Hopkins University Junior Olympic Lacrosse Team. She attended Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania for high school and even played on the boys team for one year until they created a girls team! She then went on to play for the Cincinnati Stix and Miami of Ohio club lacrosse once her family moved back to Cincinnati. Lauren earned her BS from Miami University in 2003 and now lives downtown Chicago working in commercial lending. She wishes to share her passion for the game by getting more involved and coaching for the Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association.
Bobbie Sagan - Bobbie first started playing lacrosse in 1999 at Glenbook South High School. Her senior year Bobbie was MVP, 2nd team All-State and a Senior All-Star. Bobbie attended college at Western Michigan University where she graduated with a degree in communications and Spanish. During those years she was captain as well as leading scorer. In 2006 she was named WCLL All-League player. Bobbie is a certified US Lacrosse official holding a Local rating, and head coach for Mattawan High school, where she lead the team from 2-17 the previous season to 13-7 when she was head coach. Bobbie now lives in Northbrook, continues to play and is on the coaching staff at Glenbrook North High School.
Crystal Sagan - Crystal started playing lax at Glenbrook South High School (Glenview, Il) where she played 3 years of varsity and senior year was part of the All-Star team. From there she moved on to Western Michigan University where she played all four years, leading the team in goals all of the four years. She coached for Lakeshore has played with the Lakeshore Women's Club.
Salli Schlacks - Salli attended Glenbard West High School where she played varsity soccer and was on the cross-country and gymnastics teams. She started playing lacrosse as a freshman at Regis University in Denver, Colorado where she joined the varsity Division II women's lacrosse team. As a member of the team for four years she played a midfield position and was most comfortable on defense. Senior year, she was made a captain and led the team in ground balls, second in goal-scoring. Also, she was awarded Academic All-American and was chosen for the IWCLA DII All-star team in 2005. Currently, she attends the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and is an assistant coach for the U of I Women's lacrosse team. She still loves to play and has been a guest player for the Chicago Women's Lacrosse Club.
Katya Strohl - Katya played for Oak Park and River Forest High School's first two years as a Varsity team as a midfielder and defender. After graduating she attended Scripps College in Southern California and began playing for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas, which in 2007 (her Junior year) became the first team from the West Coast to make NCAA playoffs. Throughout her college career Katya became a leader on and off the field. Her sophomore year of college, while her team was in need of backup goalie, she stepped up and worked to become the team's starter.
Web Design and Management Kerry Kobe - Kerry grew up playing lacrosse in Northern Virginia. She captained her high school lacrosse team at Bishop O'Connell in Arlington, VA. Kerry went to college at the University of Notre Dame, and upon arriving in 1994 played for the women's club team. Two years later she was part of the inaugural team when women's lacrosse was chosen to be the next Division I sport for Notre Dame. Kerry played on the team her junior and senior years under current head coach Tracy Coyne. Since moving to Chicago in 1998 she has always been involved in lacrosse to some extent or another - first founding the girls' program at Hinsdale Central HS, then as president of the Chicago-IL US Lacrosse Chapter for a two-year term and lastly as a women's lacrosse official. In addition to being the VP of Information Technology at an investment firm downtown, she freelances doing website and graphic design around the city. Kerry has her MBA from Northwestern Kellogg School of Management in Marketing & Entrepreneurship. She's played many summers with Lakeshore Women’s Lacrosse Club, and loves designing Lakeshore's many websites (since 2003!)
